General Information:- Region : Upper Shimla Hills, Himachal Pradesh. Altitude : 2200 Mts. Distance from Shimla : 78 Kms.

The Britishers were great patrons of tranquil exotic locations and they found Gahan, a perfect spot for their family vacations. It was also a favourite holiday venue for the Royal Bushar Rulers. Gahan was part of the earstwhile Bushar Kingdom. Being just 75 kms uphill from Shimla, it was a popular escapade during the earlier part of the century. The hundred years old forest rest house which still stands majestic is testimony to this. Gahan still stands as one of the most beautiful unexplored places in Himachal. There is small village here with a few houses and the main occupation of the people living here are apple and cherry farming.
